Thread: Jump Rotorhead Dynamics

  1. #141
Hi Ed - it was a question for John about the project to develop a better pre-rotator which is what I have spent almost 2 years on - short update - spent too much time trying to make the clutch work. Have been tring to make it so can just transfer to plane (assuming it works) and clutch would be ideal, but too many complications. This is just a test bed to test the concept so figger that out later. Soooo have reduced it to a manual engagement, which means will have to shut the engine down to engage. (or just grind 'em together -- Have gears mounted on crankshaft pulley and pump, and mounting frame and pivoting engagement made. Also mounting for motor on mast, and drive shaft almost completed. Have a new design to use the transmission main shaft with gear at the rotorhead so those gears are ready. Still have to finish the frame at the rotorhead and design the control levers for the cockpit, so there is finally some progress.
